Business Owner Shoots, Kills Man Outside Of Famed Hip Hip Shop In Detroit
DETROIT (WWJ) - A Detroit business owner turns the tables on a would-be intruder, with lethal results.
The incident happened around 5 p.m. at the Hip Hop Shop on 7 Mile Road just west of Greenfield Road on the city's west side.
The business owner, who has a valid concealed pistol license, reportedly fired the weapon during an attempted robbery. The victim, a man in his 20s, was fatally wounded.
Witnesses told police the victim was apparently trying to sell CDs in front of the store, which was featured in the movie "8 Mile" starring rapper Eminem. His name has not been released.
The business owner is being questioned by police.
An investigation is ongoing.
