Bricks Strewn Across Detroit Roadway After Fire, Building Collapse

DETROIT (WWJ) - Part of a building collapsed during a fire on Detroit's northeast side, leaving bricks and debris scattered across the roadway.

The fire broke out early Friday morning at the two-story building on Kercheval Avenue, between Cadillac Boulevard and McClellan Avenue.

At some point, part of the building's façade collapsed, spilling bricks and debris across the eastbound lanes of Kercheval.

Detroit Department of Public Works employees have erected a rudimentary barricade to alert drivers to the situation before the scene can be completely cleared.

Drivers are cautioned to avoid the area.
