Boyfriend Charged In Westland Woman's Slaying

WESTLAND (AP) — A 38-year-old man has been charged in the slaying of his girlfriend inside her suburban Detroit home.

The Wayne County prosecutor's office says Saturday that Jaime Pearson is expected to be arraigned Sunday in 34th District Court in Romulus.

Police said the body of 30-year-old Rachel Watson was found Thursday just after midnight in the basement of her Westland home. Police said family members went to check on her after she didn't go to work as expected.

Watson was a mother of four children. The prosecutor's office says she is alleged to have been strangled.

The Associated Press could not determine Saturday if Pearson has an attorney.
