Classical Revolution Detroit's focus is to bring classical music to the masses, and aims to make music accessible to everyone. CRD accomplished this by showcasing acclaimed musicians in informal venues, such as an eatery, nightclub or even a residential home. Previous events have been at the Cadieux Cafe and the Boathouse on Lake George in upstate New York. Join attendees to hear an evening that celebrates the musical legacy of Black-Americans in this 75-minute classical performance featuring strings and percussion. Attendees will hear works by Dvorak, Bach, Glinka, Duke Ellington and Scott Joplin, with additional pieces by William Grant Still and Rick Robinson rounding out the evening's performance, which will be held at the Carr Center.

The Palmer Woods Music in Homes series began in 2007. The Creative Arts Collective works in conjunction with the Palmer Woods Association to open the doors of homes located in historic Palmer Woods to the public while musicians perform music to the guests. Featured artists specialize in classical, jazz and world music. Guest musicians vary and have previously included classical pianist and erhu extraordinaire Xiao Dong Wei, guitarist A. Spencer Barefield, violinist Jannina Barefield Norpoth, pianist Maria Meirelles and violinist James VanValkenburg. Every concert is held in a different historical home. A reception and refreshments follow each performance.
