Batter Up! Tigers Set To Play First Exhibition Game Monday
LAKELAND (WWJ) - The Tigers are set to play their first exhibition game Monday afternoon. The voice of the Tigers Dan Dickerson spoke live on WWJ with a preview of the season, including the status of Miguel Cabrera:
"I just think he's feeling very good right now, and they are going slow but he's kind of passing every test; whether it's on the anti-gravity treadmill that allows him to run or whether it's something that he's doing in the batter's cage. He's feeling good," said Dickerson.
As for the bull pen, "I don't think the rotation will be any problem Justin Verlander is going to be way better and you've got Price, Sanchez ahead of Greene and Simon.
Tigers Agree To Terms With Six Players for 2015 Season
"The depth that the Tigers have, the arms that they have to choose from it's a lot greater than in recent years. So, if somebody goes down, if there's an injury - if there is a performance issue - I think last year you really had seven guys and not much beyond that in the bull pen and I think this year they really feel comfortable with the thought that 'you might have another seven guys," he said.
The Tigers will host the Florida Southern Moccasins at 1:05pm at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, Florida.
