Batman Vs. Superman: Is Debbie Stabenow Playing The Mayor?
LANSING (WWJ) - U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow is headed for the big screen.
The Michigan Democrat told WWJ Lansing Bureau Chief Tim Skubick she was on the set of "Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" last week, filming scenes in East Lansing.
"There were 300 extras in the area that were part of that," she said. "It was fun to be part of it, but I can't share any details."
Stabenow wouldn't say if she has a speaking role in the movie, citing a confidentiality agreement, although the rumors are she might be playing the Mayor of Metropolis.
"I really can't share any details other than to say, you know, for me, this is about supporting the movie industry [in Michigan]," she said.
Stabenow said the whole filming process was experience that she'll never forget, and she hopes she doesn't end up on the cutting room floor.
"I really don't know, it's yet to be determined. It would be a shame but you know what? That's the movies," she said.
"Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" is set to be released in early 2016.
