Authorities Searching For Police Impersonator In Oakland County

NEW HUDSON (WWJ) -- Oakland County Sheriff's investigators are continuing their search for a man who may be impersonating police.

Two off-duty officers say there are reports of a man conducting a traffic stop along I-96 at Milford Road on Thursday morning. The man was wearing a vest with the word "Sheriff" on the back.

The fake officer was in a silver or champagne-colored Pontiac Bonneville and sped away when the real officers tried to follow him. The license plate was 0KLR02.

The suspect is described as a white male with light brown hair cut in a crew-cut style. He was last seen wearing bright blue pants and the same black tactical vest.

Anyone that has information or has had contact with this individual is urged to contact the Oakland County Sheriff's Office at 888-TURN-1-IN.
