Auburn Hills Police Search For Serial Home Invader

AUBURN HILLS (WWJ) - Police have released a computer generated image of a man suspected of breaking into several homes in Auburn Hills over the last few weeks.

Police believe the man is responsible for breaking into five different homes in neighborhoods near Walton Boulevard and Dexter Road between Jan. 31 and Feb. 19.

The incidents occurred at the following locations, which are within a half-mile radius of each other:

• Jan. 31 -- 2800 block of Pontiac Court

• Feb. 11 -- 2100 block of Walnut Road
• Feb. 11 -- 2900 block of Edna Jane Road
• Feb. 19 -- 2900 block of James Road

According to police, the home invasions were committed during day time hours and in every incident, no one was home at the time. Police say the suspect is gaining access to the homes through unlocked doors or prying windows open. Guns, jewelry, cash and video games are among items reported stolen.

Police were hot on the suspect's tail on Feb. 19 after a resident reported seeing a possible suspect in the area of the home invasion on James Road. The caller told police the suspect was on foot but by the time officers arrived in the area, he was gone.

The suspect is described as white male in his mid 30's, 5'11" to 6' tall, with a thin build, brown hair, a full beard and mustache. He was wearing a beige or dark brown coat with a zipper and dark blue jeans.
