Armed Suspect At Large In Fraser Walgreens Robbery [PHOTOS]
FRASER (WWJ) - Authorities in Macomb County are looking for a man who held a Walgreens employee at gunpoint during an early morning robbery.
Police say the suspect entered the pharmacy store at 31100 Groesbeck in Fraser, shortly before 4 a.m. Thursday, selected an ice tea from the refrigerator walked to the register.
That's when, police say, the suspect removed a black and silver semi-automatic handgun from the waistband of his shorts and pointed it at the clerk's face, demanding all the money from the register.
The clerk and the suspect emptied the cash drawer into a bag and the suspect fled the scene, walking west through the parking lot.
Lt. Mike Pettyes says a K-9 unit tracked the man, but police lost the trail.
The suspect is described as a heavy-set black male, around 6 feet, 2 inches tall and 230 to 250 lbs, with short black hair, a full beard and a mustache. He was wearing a black t-shirt, green camouflage shorts, black high top shoes and a blue baseball hat, with work-style safety glasses sitting atop the hat.
Police think the man might work in the area, possibly at a machine shop.
Anyone who recognizes the suspect seen in the security photos or who has any information about this crime is asked to call Fraser Police Department at 586-293-1425 and reference complaint number 16-12114.
