'Armed And Extremely Dangerous' Man Wanted In Labor Day Weekend Slaying [PHOTOS]

DETROIT (WWJ) - Police believe they know who fatally shot a 21-year-old man in Detroit over Labor Day weekend — and they're looking for tips to help bring him in.

Lawrence Isaac McCree, Jr. is the primary suspect in the murder Sunday night on Haverhill near Munich on the city's east side.

Police say the victim was standing outside a friend's home at around 8:50 p.m. when the suspect came around the side of the house, armed with a rifle. The suspect then fired multiple shots, striking the victim.

The young man, who is not being named at this time, was pronounced dead on scene. Police have not mentioned a possible motive.

McCree is described as a black male, around 6 feet, 1 inch tall and 150 lbs, with a dark complexion, medium afro-style hair, a thin mustache and a goatee. Photos were released to the media on Wednesday.

Police say McCree should be considered "armed and extremely dangerous." Citizens are urged not approach him or try to apprehend him themselves.

Anyone who has seen this suspect, knows of his whereabouts or has any information about this crime is asked to call Detroit Police Homicide at 313-0596-2260.  Citizens can remain anonymous by leaving a tip via the DPD Connect or by contacting Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
