Things got a little chippy at the Palace of Auburn Hills on Friday night as the Pistons hosted the Toronto Raptors for what was more of a home game for the visiting squad.
The Pistons were letting their 12th straight home game slip through their fingers midway through the fourth quarter when Raptors swingman James Johnson put one of the best dunks of the year on Andre Drummond.
It seemed to be a tipping point of frustration, as Drummond retaliated on the next defensive possession by hip-checking Johnson to the floor as he went to the basket. The ensuing skirmish resulted in four technical fouls, but no ejections.
The Pistons definitely need an injection of some emotion, as coach Stan Van Gundy has alluded to. The Pistons would go on to lose their 12th straight game at the Palace, 110-100.
