Amazon Prime To Go On Sale This Week For $67

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) If you're on the fence about Amazon Prime, the fee that gives you free two-day shipping and other extras on the Internet shopping site, this may be the time to dive in.

The service is going for sale for $67 on one day only -- Sept. 25. It begins at midnight and lasts 24 hours.

The cost is usually $99 a year.

Per CNN Money, the deal is in honor of the 5 Emmys Amazon took home Sunday at the Emmy Awards. Awards went to the online retailer's original show "Transparent."

Prime membership includes free movie streaming and a library of free e-books.

In the fourth quarter of 2014, Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, announced paid Prime membership "had climbed 50 percent in the US and at an even greater clip worldwide," according to Wired.
