Accident On M-10 Causes Huge Backup

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - A popular stretch of the Lodge Freeway in metro Detroit has reopened following a serious accident that created a multi-mile traffic backup.

The accident happened Friday morning on southbound M-10 under the overpass of Civic Center Drive in Southfield.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash, although other circumstances weren't immediately clear. Reporting live from the scene, WWJ's Charlie Langton said it appears a four-door sedan skidded across all three lanes before smashing head-on into the concrete median.

Michigan State Police say one person involved in the crash received a serious injury and was rushed to the hospital. Their current condition is unknown.

All southbound lanes of the Lodge Freeway are closed at Lahser Road for a few hours while police investigated, but has sense reopened.
