Aaron Hernandez's Fiancee: I Removed Box At His Request

FALL RIVER, Mass. (AP) — The fiancee of former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez has testified in his murder trial that she removed a box from their basement at his request the day after the slaying.

Shayanna Jenkins was on the stand Monday for a second day. Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to the June 17, 2013, killing of Odin Lloyd.

Lloyd was dating Jenkins' sister.

Jenkins says Hernandez called her the day after the killing and told her it was important to toss the box. Jenkins says she didn't look inside the box or ask what was inside. She says she threw it in a trash bin but can't remember where.

She said she asked him if he killed Lloyd, and he told her no.

Prosecutors have indicated the box could have held the murder weapon, which wasn't found.
