AAA: More Than 1.5 Million Michiganders Traveling For Thanksgiving
DEARBORN (WWJ/AP) - AAA projects that more than 1.5 million people from Michigan plan to travel this year for the Thanksgiving holiday, the most since 2007.
During the long holiday weekend -- from Wednesday, Nov. 25 to Sunday, Nov. 29 -- the auto club says nearly one percent more people than last year are expected to go 50 miles or more from their homes in Michigan. Most of those traveling plan to be driving, while others making trips will be taking planes, buses or trains.
"Americans still place a high premium on being with family for Thanksgiving," AAA's Brent Stahlheber said in a statement.

Nationally, AAA says 46.9 million Americans are expected to travel for the holiday.
