Police: Former NFL Player Will Smith Killed In Road Rage Incident
DETROIT (WWJ) - Michigan State football coach Mark Dantonio sends condolences to the family of a NFL former player killed during an apparent road rage incident.
Ex-New Orleans Saints football star, 34-year-old Will Smith, was killed Saturday night in New Orleans after a traffic accident caused Smith's car to hit a car in front of him, after Smith's car was struck from behind according to police.
According to reports Smith and another driver got into a verbal fight and the other driver pulled a gun killing Smith and wounding Smith's wife who was also in the car. She is expected to recover.
In a statement on his twitter account coach Dantonio sent his thoughts and prayers to the Smith's family:

Smith played defensive end at Ohio State University from 2000-2003 when Dantonio was defensive coordinator for the Buckeyes.

Cardell Hayes, 28, has been charged with second degree murder in connection with Smith's death.
