$2,500 Reward Offered To Catch Detroit High School Senior's Killer

DETROIT (WWJ) - Authorities are hoping a $2,500 reward will be enough to convince someone to come forward with information about the murder of an 18-year-old kid in southwest Detroit.

Anthony Lyndell Miles was killed at approximately 12:45 a.m. on Thursday, August 20. The shooting took place in the 8800 block of Lauder, in a neighborhood just west of Hubble Avenue and Joy Road.

Officials say Miles was last seen talking to occupants of a black SUV. Moments later, police say Miles was intentionally struck by an unknown vehicle. He died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Miles was a senior at Cody High School in Detroit and was working toward his diploma through Focus Hope's Step Up program. He was also making positive changes in his life with the assistance of the Flip the Script program. Additionally, Miles was working 12 hour shifts at Splash Car Wash on 7 Mile to help providing home health care for his great-great grandmother.

Crime Stoppers of Michigan is offering a $2,500 reward for information that leads to an arrest in the case. To make an anonymous tip, call 1-800-SPEAK-UP or visit 1800speakup.org.
