$218,000 Michigan Lottery Prize Goes Unclaimed

LANSING, Mich. (AP) - A Michigan Lottery ticket worth $218,000 has gone unclaimed for a year and was deposited into the state's fund for K-12 schools.

The lottery said Monday the winning Fantasy 5 jackpot from the Aug. 16, 2013, drawing was sold at the Garden City Fuel Stop in the Detroit suburb.

Fantasy 5 tickets are valid for one year from the drawing date. Because the one-year date fell on a weekend, the ticket holder had until 4:45 p.m. Monday to claim the prize.
