2 Wanted In Shooting Death Of High School Student Walking Home

DETROIT (WWJ) - A cash reward of up to $2,500 is being offered for the tip that leads to an arrest in the murder of an 18-year-old high school student last month on Detroit's northwest side.

According to Crime Stoppers of Michigan, Wilon McRae — who was a senior Dearborn High School — was walking home, at around 5 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28, when he was fatally shot.

Police said McRae was approached by two unknown suspects on foot in the 500-block of St. Aubin, between Larned and E. Lafayette Streets. One of them flashed a gun and demanded McRae hand over his money. When the teen tried to run away, he was gunned down.

The first suspect is described as a black male, 25-30 years old, around 5 feet 9-10 inches tall and 160 to 170 pounds, wearing a black Nike hoodie, black sweat pants, black gym shoes. He was carrying a handgun.

The second suspect is described as a black male, 24-27 years old  around 5 feet, 10-11 inches tall and 170 to 185 pounds. He was wearing a black hoodie under a designer leather "Pelle Pelle" style waist-length jacket.

"McRae's mother worked hard at keeping her son and his twin brother safe and protected," according to Crime Stoppers.

McRae loved the game of basketball and his goal was to work in construction.
