2 Killed In Truck Crash In Macomb County
RAY TOWNSHIP (WWJ) -- Michigan State Police confirm a double-fatal crash that occurred Saturday morning along 29 Mile Rd. in Macomb County's Ray Township involving a flatbed truck and a box truck.
The driver of the flatbed ran off the road, over-corrected, then crossed the center line and hit the box truck at around 11 a.m. on Saturday, Michigan State Police Lt. Mike Shaw said in a press release.
The flatbed then hit a utility pole and became tangled in live electrical wires. DTE officials told WWJ Newsradio 950 that crews were able to clear the wires without incident.
The drivers of both trucks died instantly in the collision. Their names have yet to be released.
29 Mile Rd. between Wilcott and North Ave. remains closed for investigation.
