2 Firefighters Among 7 Injured In Blaze At Cement Plant In Farmington Hills
FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) - Seven people have been hospitalized following a fire on 8 Mile between Merriman and Middlebelt in Farmington Hills Thursday.
Five of those receiving treatment worked at a cement plant - two of which are in serious condition. The other two were Farmington Hills Firefighters who were injured while saving an employee.
Deputy Chief of the Farmington Hills Fire Department Lee Panoushek says his department received assistance from neighboring communities in extinguishing the flames.
The fire began at approximately 2:45 p.m. and was extinguished by about 3:15. The firefighters injured in the blaze are expected to make a full recovery.
