DETROIT (WWJ) - Two men have been charged in the fatal shooting of a 79-year-old Westland man in what authorities say was a dispute over payment for a bottle of pills.

Cortez Butler, 24, of Detroit, is charged with felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition charges. Both were arraigned Saturday at which time bond for Butler was set at $1 million and Morgan was remanded to jail without bond.
It's alleged on Dec. 6, Morgan and the victim, Charles Graham, met up with Butler in the 9300 block of Woodlawn in Detroit for the purposes of a drug deal.
According to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office, the three got into a nearby car, Butler handed Graham some pills and asked him for money. After a brief argument about payment, it's alleged, Graham was shot in the head and both defendants then fled the scene. Authorities aren't specifying what kind of pills.
Morgan and Butler will be back in 36th District for a preliminary exam on Tuesday, Dec. 23.
