15-Year-Old Michigan Girl Makes $1,100 Selling Nudes Online, Police Searching For Buyers

GAINES TOWNSHIP (WWJ/AP) -- Authorities in western Michigan are trying to find people who bought nude photos and videos of a 15-year-old Grand Rapids-area girl.

Court records show the girl made more than $1,100 over the course of about a year selling the photos of herself. The girl told authorities she met the buyers through Kik messenger, a popular internet messenger app.

Records show that the girl posted the phrase "selling stuff" on the messaging site. A Kent County Sheriff's detective said the buyers would then contact her and simply ask, "what are you selling?"

The photos and videos of the girl were sent from her personal email account. Buyers were charged $20 and $100 through a PayPal account before receiving the items.

The girl told police she had repeat customers.

Sheriff's Detective Matthew Batchelder wrote in a search warrant affidavit to retrieve online account information of the buyers that men would contact the teen and ask what she was selling, WZZM-TV reported.

"She would then tell them that she would send them nude pictures and videos for a price," Batchelder wrote.

No arrests have been made.
