10,000 Homes And Businesses Without Power In Troy After Substation Catches Fire
TROY (WWJ) - Officials are dealing with a major power outage in Troy.
DTE Energy says about 10,000 homes and businesses lost power around 8:20 a.m. Thursday after a fire broke out at a substation.
The outage is affecting traffic lights at the intersection of Big Beaver Road and Livernois Road, causing a slight backup in the area.
A spokesman for DTE says it's unclear what caused the fire, but power should be restored by the afternoon.
