Wildfire Puts Up A Lot Of Smoke In Thornton

THORNTON, Colo. (CBS4) - A wildfire burned in Thornton on Wednesday afternoon. The fire was putting out a lot of smoke north of the Denver metro area.

The fire was burning in a residential area near 95th  Avenue and Pecos Street about 3:40 p.m.

Copter4 flew over the fire which was putting out a lot of smoke. Flames could be seen from Copter4 which was miles away.

Shortly after 4 p.m. the fire seemed under control. The fire was burning in a ravine near homes.

What caused the fire remains under investigation.

The size of the fire was unknown.
