Meadow Creek Fire in Colorado's Summit County was likely human caused

Firefighters in Summit County say they believe a small Colorado wildfire that started on Wednesday afternoon was human caused. The fire was given the name the Meadow Creek Fire. It is located near Frisco and just north of Interstate 70.

 The fire started at approximately 3:30 p.m. and has burned about 1.3 acres.

Fire crews dug a hand line around the fire and will continue work at the scene on Thursday morning.

Summit Fire & EMS said there's no need for people driving by on I-70 to call 911 if they see smoke coming from the burn area.

The Meadow Creek and North Tenmile Creek trails are off limits until the fire is brought under control.
