Vail Pass Backcountry Finally Gets Enough Snow To Open For The Season

VAIL, Colo. (CBS4)- Vail Pass has finally gotten enough snow for the backcountry trails to open for the season. The U.S. Forest Service began grooming the trails this week.

That's nearly a month later than usual. Rangers warn that if you want to ski, snowboard or snowmobile, expect early-season conditions with thin areas.

Remember to get there early, since the Vail Pass visitor lots typically fill up by 9:30 a.m. on weekends and holidays.
