Police Investigate Stabbing In CU Campus Area, Joshua Davis Arrested

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) --  University of Colorado Boulder police are investigating a possible stabbing on campus that was reported on Thursday afternoon. Boulder police made an arrest just hours later.

Campus police says the incident reportedly happened about 12:30 p.m., at Broadway and Marine Street, in the area of the Andrews Arboretum.

The victim, and adult male, told police he was stabbed in the wooded area along the bike path that traverses down University Hill, from Main Campus. He was rushed to the hospital and remained in stable condition on Thursday evening.

Joshua Davis, 33, was identified as the suspect and taken into custody about 4:30 p.m. He is expected to be charged with first-degree felony assault.

Police say this is the third stabbing in the City of Boulder involving unhoused individuals this month. Detectives believe the incident stemmed from a disagreement between the two men, both of whom are unhoused. Detectives are also investigating whether this crime is related to the stabbings of two other unhoused victims on Jan. 6 and Jan. 8.
