Ultrarunner Raising Money For Springs Mission In Scotland

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - A volunteer for the Colorado Springs Rescue Mission is competing in a 95-mile race in Scotland to help raise money for its new homeless shelter.

Tim Gore is running the West Highland Way between Saturday and Sunday, a route that most people take about a week to walk.

The ultrarunner also decided to tack on an extra 7 miles so he could start his race at the rescue mission in Glasgow, which is believed to be the world's first.

Gore also raised money for the mission last year by competing in the Leadville 100 high-altitude run.
