Thousands Enjoy A Beautiful Morning At Annual Easter Sunrise Service At Red Rocks
MORRISON, Colo. (CBS4) - Thousands of people woke up early Sunday morning to celebrate Easter by attending the Sunrise Service at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
It was the 68th year for the Easter service at Red Rocks. The Sunrise Service started at 6 a.m. and continued as the sun rose on Easter morning.
"It's gorgeous … it's like really pretty," one patron said.
This year's preacher was Rev. Dr. Thomas Wolfe from the Iliff School of Theology in Denver.

The event was free but worshipers were asked to bring non-perishable food items for the Denver Rescue Mission. The coalition of churches also takes donations to cover the cost of the event.
"It's just such a spiritual experience," another patron said.
It's a tradition Coloradans hope to return to time and time again.
"It's really a beautiful experience to see the sun rise at the top of the day and Easter," patron Kelly Jackson said.
Those who would like to help fund the service can do so through the Colorado Council of Churches.
