Teen Accused In Crash That Killed 2 Faces DUI, Vehicular Homicide Charges
CENTENNIAL, Colo. (CBS4) - A teenager is accused of causing a crash that killed two women in Centennial Friday afternoon.
Taden Jones, 18, is facing of DUI and vehicular homicide charges.
The identities of the two women who were killed haven't been released but the community is showing support for the victims at the crash site. Some people went to the site on Saturday to pay their respects to the victims. Flowers and teddy bears were placed by strangers.
The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office says the women were riding in a silver car. One was ejected and died at the scene. The other died at the hospital.
The sheriff's office expects a long investigation involving Jones of Centennial.
"When you put yourself behind that wheel your life is in danger and other people's, so if you're not 100 percent on your game anything can happen," Centennial resident Pam Garcia said.
Jones had two passengers. One was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
"Obviously drinking and driving kills people," Garcia said.
"There are people that do not actually watch what the heck is going on in front of them and I just want to let everybody to be aware," Centennial resident Robert Roehrs said.
"I hope that young boy can move on, but he's going to be in prison for it and that's going to be hard for anybody," Garcia said. "You reap what you sow and if you're being irresponsible you can kill people, especially if you're driving that way."
Jones' bond was set at $50,000.
