Teen Critically Injured After Getting Hit By Car In Aurora

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) – A teenager is in critical condition after getting hit by a car while walking across a road in Aurora Sunday evening.

According to Lt. Jeff Turner with Aurora police, just after 8 p.m. a silver Acura driven by an adult male was traveling west in the left lane on East Illiff Avenue just west of South Idalia Street when he struck the teenage pedestrian.

"A teenage male pedestrian crossed Iliff from north to south and ran directly in front of the car where he was hit," Turner said in a statement.

The teen was transported to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition.

"It is unknown if he will survive his injuries," Turner said.

The driver of the car, who wasn't injured, is cooperating with the investigation.
