The charges allege that on Feb. 14 Guerrero and Goldberg defaced the Fallen Officer Memorial with red paint during a protest outside Denver Police Department Headquarters and then resisted arrest when contacted by police.
The protests sparked a fiery debate between police and the community because officers were following orders to standby until the protesters stopped. Some believe the officers should have stepped in sooner before the memorial was vandalized.
Both Guerrero and Goldberg have been released from custody on $5,000 bond and are scheduled to appear in Denver County Court on March 2 to be formally advised of the charges.
