Support For Law Enforcement Soars In Colorado Following Dallas Shooting

DENVER (CBS4) - Support for the Dallas Police Department has been pouring in since the attack, and law enforcement in Colorado are also getting support.

Flowers, cards, balloons, lots of food, but even more "thank yous" have been pouring into law enforcement offices all over. It's all to show the men and women behind the badge they have support.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office received a call they typically don't get..

"I'm just calling to say 'thank you,'" a man told a deputy on the phone.

The sheriff's office says it came in moments after news broke that shots had been fired and multiple police officers in Dallas had been killed.

"I'm watching what's going on in Dallas. I'm a vet and I want you to know that I'm on your side and I appreciate your efforts," the man said.

The anonymous caller wasn't alone in wanting to voice his support. Law enforcement from Parker, Sheridan, Northglenn, Lakewood and Fort Collins, among many more, shared images after they also started hearing from their community.

Cambra Kozkur and her 4-year-old son Dash made the trip to the Arvada Police Department.

"One thing we talk about a lot is that when bad things happen we have to love bigger, and so we talked about how we could love big today," Kozkur said.

The "thank you" card, although written by mom, was in Dash's own words.

"Thanks for taking care of our home and thanks for saving people when there is emergencies," Dash said.
