Stretch Of I-25 In Adams County To Close For Installation Of Massive Signs
ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - The Colorado Department of Transportation announced they will be closing a stretch of Interstate 25 this week for the installation of three new overhead sign structures.
The closure will occur along northbound I-25 between U.S. 36 and 84th Avenue from 1 a.m. to 3 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday. Access will also be restricted to northbound I-25 from westbound I-270, eastbound U.S. 36 and eastbound I-76.
The signs are being put up as part of the I-25 North Express Lanes Project. The will span the width of the highway and will be used to "provide instructions and guidance regarding the new express lane system."
"These new signs are an integral part of the statewide express lanes project, and will help ease the transition as motorists begin to utilize the new express lane," CDOT engineer Jason Lucerna said in a statement.
Some of the signs are nearly the width of a football field in size.
