Shots Heard Around The World: Springs Man Who Murdered Computer 'Just Had It'

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - A Colorado Springs man who fired eight rounds into his computer says he was simply upset.

Lucas Hinch says he used the computer to store shipping information for customers at a tea business called Organica Herb. When it wouldn't give up the information, Hinch made sure it gave up the ghost.

"We've all had computer problems, but I drew the line. You know you get that blue screen of death? This computer, I don't know what possessed me. It was just … I wasn't out of my mind or anything … I just had it," Hinch said.

Hinch might not have computer problems now, but he does have a legal problem. Colorado Springs police officers cited him for discharging a firearm in city limits.

"It wasn't the right thing to do," Hinch said.

The story has made news websites all over the world, including the BBC.
