Semi-Truck Explosion Closes I-25 South Of Pueblo

PUEBLO, Colo. (CBS4)- A semi-truck exploded on Interstate 25 south of Pueblo after rolling over Thursday morning. The crash forced the closure of I-25 in both directions.

During the rollover the cab and tank split apart and the cab burst into flames. The driver was rushed to the hospital with injuries. The extent of those injuries is unknown.

Before the tank can be removed, crews must drain the butane from the tank.

The Colorado State Patrol reopened northbound lanes of I-25 at mile marker 77, a few miles north of Colorado City for a time. All lanes of I-25 were closed once again. The closure could last through Thursday afternoon.
