Semi Catches Fire In Interstate 70 Crash

BYERS, Colo. (CBS4) - A semi truck and a car collided late Saturday morning in a fiery crash on Interstate 70.

Both directions of the interstate were closed at 11:30 a.m. after the crash, which happened between Byers and Deer Trail east of Aurora.

The Colorado State Patrol said there were minor injuries in the crash.

Fuel spilled from the semi and lit some grasses nearby on fire.

Investigators are checking into possible tire failure as a cause of the crash.

The closure lasted all of Saturday afternoon, and one direction of the highway remained closed in the evening.
