School Bus Driver Killed In Crash At DIA Laid To Rest
THORNTON, Colo. (CBS4) - The school bus driver killed in a crash at Denver International Airport is now laid to rest as the investigation continues.
Community members attended a funeral on Monday night for Kari Chopper in Thornton. She was a wife, mother and grandmother.
Her husband spoke during the service at The Crossroads Church on 128th.
"I'm a very lucky man because I got to say goodbye to my wife. Because when I drove her to work I got to say 'Bye, I love you' and I gave her a hug and a kiss," Josh Chopper said.
Chopper was driving the bus carrying football players and coaches from Legacy High School.
Investigators still don't know what caused her to lose control of the bus on Sept. 11, but the coroner did find that she had an enlarged heart.
