Rollover Crash Into Construction Zone Ejects Both Occupants From Car

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - A second person has died after being ejected during a rollover crash in Aurora early Wednesday morning. The first victim died immediately following the crash.

The crash happened around 1 a.m. on North Peoria Street near East 33rd Avenue. Police say a 1995 silver Nissan Pathfinder had run off the road and into an area under construction for the RTD light rail line.

Two males were ejected from the car and rushed to the hospital. One man died right away and the other was listed in critical condition but then succumbed to his injuries.

It is unclear why the SUV left the roadway which caused it to flip. Police say neither occupant was wearing a seat belt which is what led to their ejection.

Those involved in the crash have not been identified.
