Rockies Activate Anderson, Will Start Sunday
DENVER (AP) - The Colorado Rockies activated Brett Anderson from the 60-day disabled list and the lefty will start Sunday against Minnesota.
Anderson has been out since breaking his left index finger on April 12 while batting. Anderson is 0-2 with a 3.60 ERA this season.
To make room for Anderson, the team optioned utility player Kyle Parker to Triple-A Colorado Springs. The Rockies also transferred righty Jordan Lyles (broken left hand) to the 60-day DL. Rockies manager Walt Weiss said recent X-rays showed Lyles' hand "needed a little bit more time."
Weiss also said Lyles was involved in a minor car accident Friday night and suffered some facial injuries. Weiss said Lyles was "going to be OK" and the accident didn't play a role in Lyles going on the 60-day DL.
