Rock Slide Covers Highway 6, Closes Loveland Pass
LOVELAND PASS, Colo. (CBS4) - A major cleanup effort is poised to get underway after a rock slide closed Loveland Pass Tuesday.
The slide happened at approximately 4 p.m. between Arapahoe Basin and Keystone Resort. No one was hurt.
The slide is approximately 7 feet deep and covers Highway 6. Rocks and mud came down along with the rocks.
Geologists said they have to make sure the hillside is stable before crews with the Colorado Department of Transportation can start clearing out the debris.
So far it's not clear when the highway will reopen.
