Prosecutors Say Accused 'Scream' Robbers Linked To Crimes Through DNA

GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4) - Three men suspected in violent bank robberies and a crime spree appeared in court on Tuesday. The thieves became known as the "Scream" robbers for the masks they wore.

Police arrested Tyrone Richardson, and Miguel Sanders in November. Myloh Mason Made it on to the FBI's Most Wanted List before he was caught last month. They all face dozens of charges, including robbery, kidnapping and attempted murder.

Bank surveillance video shows masked suspects entering a Lakewood bank last fall and robbing it, ending with the suspects locking people inside the vault. The crime spree would end in a chase that included two carjackings and two people shot.

In court Tuesday prosecutors argued the men responsible are Sanders, Richardson and Mason, linking witness testimony and bullet casings to the suspects as well as DNA testing on clothing and masks.

The defense argues it's not clear who the robbers are in the surveillance video because of the masks and clothing, and say inconsistencies in witness accounts casts doubt on those responsible.

Richardson's mother told CBS4 the crimes are not in his character.

All three remain in custody.
