Powerful Storm Does Damage In Eastern Colorado
DENVER (CBS4) - Damaging hail and funnel clouds swept through Colorado as severe weather threatened several areas Monday night.
Parts of the state saw downed trees and other damage from strong winds and rain.
A bit of that came through the Denver metro area briefly, but packed a punch as the storm moved east.
Many viewers sent CBS4 pictures and videos of a storm that rattled Elbert County Monday afternoon.
Garcia Taylor was one of those. The view through his window showed the powerful storm gusting through the town of Elizabeth.
Between the heavy rain and pounding hail, many people spotted a funnel cloud in Elbert County, including Franktown Fire, which shared a photo on Twitter.

As quickly as the storm came, it left, moving further east into Lincoln County. There, the whipping winds gained momentum and ripped off roofs, knocked down power lines and left a trail of debris down dirt roads.
YouReporter Loredana Walker sent CBS4 pictures showing how easily the strong winds snapped trees and metal signs like twigs.
No one was reported hurt in the storms, but there will certainly be a lot of cleanup work to do.
