Police Searching For Suspect In Hotel Shooting

Investigators believe what happened may have stemmed from some sort of argument.

"We're just trying to get out of Greeley doing something. We wanted to see a play," said witness William Russell.

Russell never imagined celebrating his two year anniversary with his wife would also include talking to police as a witness of a multiple shooting.

"We heard a girl moaning really loud, and then bang, bang," said Russell.

Police say four people were shot at the hotel where Russell and his wife were staying.

The victims were rushed to the hospital with minor injuries.

"We hit the first floor. That's when we saw the stream of blood," said Russell.

Crime scene tape is still up inside as officers investigating and search for a suspect.

"A whole bunch of kids were jumping into their cars and taking off. They were ... peeling taking off. Two kids tried to jump the fence," said Russell.

Police are trying to find a motive for the shooting but for new father Joseph Butler, the shooting makes him nervous.

"I hope they wrap this up quickly. It seemed like it was young kids just trying to have a good time, and it's a shame what happened," said Butler.

Russell and his wife are checking out of the hotel with hopes that authorities catch the people who did it.

Investigators do not have a suspect description at this point and anyone with information is asked to call police.
