Police in Colorado investigate shooting with 3 dead, including infant, suspected shooter
Police in Aurora investigated a shooting with multiple victims in the 10300 block of East Evans Avenue on Saturday. Police said the shooting involving four people was reported just before 10:30 a.m.
According to police, two people were rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and the status of those patients remained unknown as of noon Saturday. One patient was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The two who were rushed to the hospital died and have been identified by police as a 20-year-old woman and an infant.
The preliminary investigation shows that the suspected shooter was located by officers and was dead at the scene. Investigators believe the gunman died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
What happened leading up to the shooting is being investigated, however, investigators said the shooting was related to an unknown family incident and everyone involved is known to each other.
"Investigators do believe that this was related to some kind of family dispute. All of the parties that are involved today are known to each other. And, investigators do not believe that there's any ongoing threat to public safety," said Aurora Police Department Public Information Officer Joe Moylan.
