Pipes Burst In Jefferson County Sheriff's Office
GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4) - As temperatures rise and ice thaws across the metro area on Friday, plumbers expect a flood, so to speak, of burst pipes.
Burst pipes inside the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office left a big mess, which the department owned up to on Twitter.
Public Affairs found the leak-but it wasn't information. ???? ☔️ #PipesBurst #cowx #JCSO pic.twitter.com/Hm9JcMAQKG

Bell Home Solutions, a plumbing company in Golden, offered a few tips:
- Keep pipes insulated with foam coverings, especially those near exterior walls
- Check pipes in crawl spaces
- Watch plastic pipes; they are at risk of bursting, too
- Keep cabinet doors open that are near exterior walls
