Petition Circulating To Recall Denver DA Mitch Morrissey

DENVER (CBS4)- Some community activists have started circulating a petition to recall Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey.

The group started its efforts last Friday, the same day that the DA's office announced the police officers involved in the deadly shooting of stolen car suspect Jessie Hernandez.

The group points to a number of other cases where the city has settled claims involving police brutality because Morrissey declined to file charges.

The group has a Facebook page where they state the groups involved in the recall effort include the NAACP State Conference CO MT WY, National Lawyers Guild, Colorado Progressive Action, Occupy, Communities United Against Mass Incarceration.
