Highway 285 Reopens After Crash Near Fairplay
PARK COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Highway 285 reopened on Wednesday afternoon between Ridge Lane and County Road 7 after a crash near Fairplay. Colorado State Patrol responded to the scene just before 11:30 a.m.
Troopers say a semi crashed into a Toyota 4Runner near milepost 184. The driver of the 4Runner, a 73-year-old man from Avon, was seriously injured in the crash, according to CSP.
Investigators did not comment on the circumstances of the crash. The driver of the semi was not injured in the crash and no other passengers were involved.
UPDATE: The initial version of this story reflected that the driver of the 4Runner had died as a result of injuries in the crash due to misinformation received by the Colorado State Patrol.
