New Art Installation Captures Colfax Vibe

DENVER (CBS4) - The newest piece of public art in Denver was dedicated this morning at the Small Triangle Park at Colfax Avenue, Franklin Street and Park Avenue West.

The installation is called Upper Main Street Clothesline.

Artist Reven Maria Swanson says she wanted to capture the essence of Colfax Avenue.

"I envision Colfax to be something of a clothesline to the entire city. On one end we have Lancaster's. On the other end we have Heritage Square. And all in between we have all these wonderful small businesses, big businesses from Casa Bonita to Hub Cap Annie," Swanson said.

She says there's not a person who lives in Denver who doesn't have a story about Colfax.

She also says it was important to make sure the pieces on the clothes line moved because it reflects the movement and color of Colfax.
